OLD TEXTBOOKS MAY BERETAINED Publishers Indicate No Reduction in Bids. In the event publishers refuse to reduce prices offered In bids to the State hoard of education, on high school textbooks for the next five years .Hoosier students may be obliged to use books on the old schedule, It was said today In offices State superintendent of public Instruction, Bookmen have Indicated there would be no reduction at future bidding, following rejection of all bids at a special meeting of the board Monday. The board contended prices were out of reason and that reductions should be made. Some of the bookmen responded with Jeers and later said reductions were Impossible, In view of labor and material costs. The board voted to receive bids until May 24 and to adopt schedules May 29.
