ENGINEER MAY TAKE CHARGE OF •LAKE PROIECT Park Board Considers Employment of Dabney H, Maurey of Chicago, Charles A. Bookwaiter, president of the board of park commissioners, announced today that Dabney H. Maurey of Chicago, one of the fore most hyraulic engineers of the country', is under the consideration to take charge of the proposed city artificial lake project. Resolutions for the acquisition of Rocky Ripple, a subdivision in the "White River lowlands west of Fairview park, in the lake site were confirmed Thursday by the board follow J ingr a public hearing before more than 200 citizens. Sentiment was in favor of the lake. A resolution for acquisition of about eighty acres of ground southwest of , Rocky Ripple, between Forty-Fifth and Thirty-Fifth Sts., an additional j tract to be used in the lake project, I was Introduced. Fred A. Gregory, Emerson W. j Chaille and I,ynn D. Milliken were appointed appraisers for the Rocky Ripple property.

RELIGION IN ARMY ASKED Weeks Requests Assistance From American Legion. Assistants from the American I.egion in magnifying the place of re ligion in the Army has been requested by Secretary of War John \V. Weeks, who has asked the ex-service organization to participate in a conference of Army chaplains in Washington, June 6 to 3, it was announced at legion national headquarters here today. The objects of the meeting, according to Secretary Weeks, are "to consider plans for more interest in the general program of moral training for soldiers; to develop community contacts; to recommend those activities which will strengthen the religious program for Regular Army posts and stations and to safeguard young men who are entering the various training camps."
