April 25.—A legal battle to thwart the efforts of authorities to return Clara Phillips, hammer murderess, from Honduras is in prospect. Armour Phillips declared today he would engage an attorney who may be dispatched to Honduras to thwart the United States—if it is her. LOUIS A special train has been arranged io carry Indianapolis Rotarians to St. Louis to attend the international convention of Rotarians June IS to 22. The announcement was made Tuesday at a meeting of the Rotary Club at the Claypool. Arthur Sapp of Huntington, district governor of the club, urged all members to attend the convention. Credit for friendly relations existing between competitors in the same jine of business was claimed for Rotary by the district governor.

April 25 State legislators visited the dead today in search of new evidence of atrocities in connection with Florida’s peonage system. Led by Arthur Johnson, a negro, who declared he aided in the simple burial, a joint committee of the State Legislator went into the swamp land near here in search of the grave of Martin Tabert. North Dakota youth, who died in a convict camp following a flogging. The investigators have been told they will find the hoy's body buried in a water soaked hole, encased in a cheap coffin and still carrying marks of the alleged brutal beating. A truck driven by a colored man struck two automobiles and then zigzagged north on White River Blvd. Tuesday night. .Tames Thompson, 426 N Jefferson Ave., said the truck turned and struck his car at Washington St. and White River Blvd. The truck then swerved and sideswiped an automobile owned by Youn White, 1705 N. Capitol Ave. White followed the truck to New York St., where the driver got out to make repairs. White returned to where the accident oecurred. When the police reached the place where the truck had stopped it had disappeared. There were no lights on the truck

Worley, investigator for Criminal Court, on information said to have been furnished by the Ku-Klux Kian, appeared before the county grand jury today. When arraigned in city court on blind tiger charges Donnelly and Farb requested jury trials, and their cases were continued.
