| der. She protested her innoncenee, I but refused to make any explanations. “I entered the case at that point and i had the body, now buried three ; months, exhumed and performed an autopsy. “Examination of the skull showed five radiating fractures centering in | a common point behind the right ear ■ over which the skin had not been | broken. This eliminated the forehead : as the site of infliction of violence. "The parallel marks on the forehead ; described in the first autopsy were examined. We found that they were on the right side. The dent in the straw hat was on the left. I then measured the marks carefully and found that they did not correspond to the creases in the straw hat brim, hut did correspond to the corrugations in the rubber mat on the stair carpet. “Now the first autopsy had described no wound which could account for the large quantity of blood on the landing and for the bloody footprints. The new fracture would

account for the blood, as one of the radiating fractures had passed through a large vein opening into the ear. “So we were able to draw accurate conclusions from the new evidence. The man, leaving her apartment in the dark, had fallen, striking his head on the rubber carpet, and then plunged headforemost down to the landing, striking the back of his skull. So much the marks on the forehead and the presence of the large quantity of blood on the landing told us. “The woman heard the fall, rushed out of her apartment in her bare feet and went down to the landing. With the man’s head resting on her shoulder, she helped him down to the street. Then she went back, -taking the hat and glasses with her. “The flat-iron had nothing to do with the murder. Death was due to an accident, the indictment against the woman was dropped. NEXT: How a Woman’s Toetli Trapped Murderer.

Sir Conan’s Message Thrills Big Audience
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is an evangelist of spiritualism. As such an evangelist, the noted Englishman’Tuesday night at the Murat explained and illustrated his convictions regarding spiritualism or life after death before one of the largest audiences ever assembled there.
People from all over the State as well as from Indianapolis were present to give strict attention to his remarks. It was evident that many present believed in his theories. There were hundreds of others who were there for the purpose of obtaining some light upon this big subject. Sir Conan does not ask for converts hut calls upon all people and all religions to consider spiritualism sincerely and to use this knowledge in science and in religion. It was evident at the close of the lecture that this distinguished visitor had given nearly every one in the crowded house something to think about for a long time. I am convinced that Sir Conan believes in his theories. There is no doubt in his mind that he has talked to his dead son and also that a spirit picture has been taken of his son. gave much reasonable logic to support his theories. It is not the purpose of this review to prove or refute any of his remarks. The fact remains that he

held the interest of hundreds of Indiana citzen.s last night while he discussed earnestly his belief. The spirit photographs were probably the most interesting. He is convinced that every picture reflected on the screen last night is genuine. Sir Conan read written messages, some, taken by his wife, from spirits telling of the great happiness over there. Many of these messages described the customs, several even tell ing of the joy in work. One message

from a spirit told of the great peace and joy in work over there and also that it is really a land of “realized desires.” Sir Conan maintains that there is art, drama, science, work, homes and the like in the beyond. “All religions have been equally wrong concerning details in the life hereafter,” he declared. He said that all spirit messages agree upon one point—that there are no jarring notes over there. The spirits, he said, agree that death is not an unpleasant sensation, but “a languid, drifting thought.” He went into detail about the “soul” being, taken to a place of rest after passing over or leaving the body so as to prepare it for the new life.’ “It is like a tune raised to a high octave,” he said. He maintains that man is not evil, but is good. He read a message which he said came from his sister, who has been dead for thirty years, and she declared that the life on this earth prepared her for the life beyond. “If they only knew all this, how it

would help them over,” he declared the message from hjs sister stated. It is his theory that we are punished for many of our physical sins on this earth. This is in the form of diseases, he said. “Sins of the body have to be paid for, but generally we pay for them on this earth,” he said. “Sins of the minds are the things we pay for the most in the beyond.” He maintained that when a man and woman are married and really love each other that they will be re-united over there. “When there is real love in married life here, they carry on over there,” he said. “When people don’t get on well here, well, heaven wouldn’t be heaven if they were brought together there.” He declared that it was a historical fact that a medium, by going into a trance, warned President Lincoln to bring about the emancipation of the slaves. It is impossible to go into detail concerning his many points. It is evident that Sir Conan has s

INGROWN TOE NAIL How to Toughen Sskin to Nail Turns Out Itself
A few drops of “Outgro” upon the skin surrounding the ingrowing nail reduces inflammation and pain and so toughens the tender, sensitive skin underneath the toe nail, that it cannot penetrate the flesh, and the nail turns naturally outward almost over night. "Outgro” is a harmless, antiseptic manufactured for chiropodists. However, anyone can buy from the drug store a tiny bottle containing directions.—Advertisement.
