COUNTY MEET IS WON BY FRANKLIN Grade School Township Tourney Closely Contested, Franklin Township won the annual Marlon County grade school track and field meet Tuesday at the Coliseum, State Fairground, scoring a total of 87 points for an average of 65.9. Each township entered was charged with a certain number of points, depending upon the number of entries. Although Wayne Township scored the most points with 95, Frankling with 87, because of its smaller entry list, won by having the best average. Wayne finished second with a 60.1 average. Perry Township -was third with 48.9 and Center Township fourth with 36. E. Vandyke 'of Franklin was the high individual scorer of the tourney, with 18 points, and received the Smith, Hassler & Sturm Company cup. The Wayne County girls received the G. H. Westing cup for the group of girls scoring the most points. $19,000 MILK BOTTLING FACTORY PLANNED HERE Fouts Car and Tractor Company Also Rushes Building Contracts. Construction of a modem milk-bot-tling plant, costing $19,000, will start within a few weeks at Madison Ave. and the Belt Railroad, it was announced today. The plant Is to be managed by 1,. H. Weaver, who has purchased the site from Mrs. Elizabeth Elbiecht. Contracts have been awarded for the erection of a $35,000 building at Belmont Ave. and IV. Washington St. by the Fouts Car and Tractor Company. The building will be of brick and steel. Roy G. Hazen Missing Roy G. Hazen. 45, of 914 Ashland Ave., was missing from his home today. Police Chief Rikhoff threatened to tell the mayor all about alleged naughty features of “Step Along” if Abe Finberg. the manager of the Broadway, did not put the lid on many of the features. Finberg, while declaring his actresses wore as much and even more clothing than many performers at other theaters, hurried to “cut out the special features' 'of “Step Along." Finberg “cut" the show Tuesday afternoon.
BURGLAR TAKES VARIETY OF TOOT Home of Mrs, Rose Pritchard Reported Ransacked, A burglar probably smacked his lips today and consumed a quart of bonded whisky which formed part of the loot from the home of Mrs. Rose Pritchard, Apartment 11, 1244 N. Illinois St. Mrs. Pritchard told police the burglar entered Tuesday between 9 p. m. and 11 p. m. The thief broke the glass of the bathroom window' and unlocked the window. Besides the whisky, two traveling bags, one containing a bank book and receipts for Liberty bonds deposited in a trust company- were missing, she said, according to police. The loot also included silverware valued at $75, a string of pearl beads, a pair of ear drops and a wedding ring. Mrs. Pritchard moved into the apartment Tuesday.
