NEGRI APPEARS JN FIRST YANKEE MADE PICTURE 'Bella Donna' to Be Featured at the Circle All Next Week, INTEREST CENTERS next week upon three unusual movies. Pol* Negri will be at the Circle in he' first American made movie, "Bella Donna.” This is the first picture actually mad© in this country hy this foreign star since arriving here. The Ohio will present the Johnson African hunt pictures, which were actually taken in Africa. The bill will include the second episode of "Fighting Blood.” The drug evil will b© exposed in “The Greatest Monaco.'’ a movie, to he at Mister Smith’s. -I- •!• -I----“Bella Donna” Due at the Circle Sunday The Circle Theater announces the lirst. appearance of Poln Negri in an American-made picture. "Bella Donna." adapted from the novel by Robert Hichens. for its next week's attraction. The story begins in London where. Bffter a brief matrimonial venture, her barque goes on the rocks and. pen nlless and alone, ah© Is in despair because her beauty Is fading. A young engineer. Nigel Armine, meets her by chance, and pitying her, tries to buoy her up. In doing so he loses his fiancee, Patricia Ames, and Bella Donna, learning that he ,1s heir to a vast fortune and title, marries him. He rakes her to Egypt, where he is reclaiming the waste places. Here she tires of his attentions and when she meets Baroudi, a desert prince, she becomes infatuated with him. and begins an Intrigue with him. They plan to get rid of Nigel. They take a trip on Baroudi's barge, where Bella Donna administers a slow poison to Nigel. Friends from England arrive and save Nigel, and when she goes to Baroudi for comfort and solace, he closes the door to her. Finding herself alone and unwanted, and without funds, Bella Donna walks out into the desert and Patricia and Nigel are reunited. A remarkable cast has been selected for the support of Miss Negri in this production, which was directed hy George Fitzmaurice. Conrad Nagel is seen as Nigel Armine. Conway Tearle is Mahomoud Baroudi, Eois Wilson appears as Patricia Ames and others are Claude King. Macey Harlan and Adolphe Menjou. to Provent the Johnson Movies The result of over two years liarrowing experiences in darkest Africa are to be sVurwn the coming week at the Ohio Theater in the motion picture attraction "Mr. and Mrs. Martin Johnson's African Hunt Pictures.” The making of the pictures entailed the greatest hardship and coolest of poise. Adventures befall the two daring explorers that never will happen to motion picture players even when •'dummies’’ are used. Over 200,000 feet of film were exposed to secure pictures which would be worthy of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson’s efforts. Both of the explorers could use motion picture cameras. They taught several black men to grind an extra pair. ''Still” cameras to se cure many splendid photographs of wild animals in natural surroundings was another commendable result of their trip. Besides the hunt picture, the Ohio Theater announces the showing of the second installment. ‘‘Round Two” In the series of sporting pictures. “Fighting Blood.” Each succeeding round of this picture is better than Its predeees sors and includes a complete story. Famous figures in sportdom appear in each installment. The music will he provided by the Ohio Theater Syncopating orchestra. The headline attraction will be “The Southland Entertainers,” an aggregation of singers and musicians. As the billing suggests. Southern tunes will predominate. “The Southland Entertainers" are a fine example of modem serenaders, a group of seven skilled musicians, w’ho play a variety of instruments and variety of tunes.

SGHOOL KIDDIES TO BE MOVIE GUESTS 'Man Without a Country' to Be Screened at Circle, Every student in Indianapolis in tha Seventh or Eighth grades or in high school is invited to a free showing of the screen classic “The Man Without a Country” at the Circle at 9:30 o’clock, Saturday morning, April 3*. under the auspices of the Indiana In* dorsers of Photoplays. The screening of this picture has been arranged by the American Legion Film Service, through the courtesy of Ralph Lieber, manager of the Circle. The film is in eight parts with Mr. Arnold Daly in the title role. The picture is based upon the original story by Doctor Edward Everett Hale and i familiar 'to every American. The showing of the pictures will be in connection with an Americanism program which Is to be part of the American Legion’s Americanism day activities.
