Thousands Ready to Subscribe! Just as thousands of crippled children in Indiana are patiently waiting for the completion of the Riley Hospital, so are thousands of persons waiting to give to the hospital building fund. They must be seen. Workers are needed, and are needed now, to complete this great work, to give every person wishing to subscribe an opportunity to do so. Pledges to the hospital building fund may be paid over a four-year period, onefourth of the total pledged payable each year. WHO IS THERE AMONG US WHO CANNOT GIVE SOMETHING, WHETHER IT BE HIS TIME OR HIS MONEY, TO SAVE A CRIPPLED CHILD FROM A LIFE OF MISERY AND SUFFERING? Indiana has hospitals for the insane, hospitals fcr the poor, hospitals for epileptics; Indiana has hospitals for the care of every class of unfortunates—WlTH ONE EXCEPTION: THERE IS NO SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL IN ALL INDIANA FOR THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF SICK AND CRIPPLED CHILDREN. True, the Robert W. Long has one free ward for children’s cases. BUT THERE ARE ONLY TWELVE BEDS IN THAT WARD. THIS DESPITE THE FACT THAT A SURVEY OF THE STATE REVEALS THE STARTLING FACT THAT THERE ARE AT LEAST TEN THOUSAND CHILDREN IN INDIANA WHO NEED SURGICAL OR MEDICAL TREATMENT NO W IF THEY ARE TO BE SAVED FOR A LIFE OF USEFULNESS TO THEMSELVES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. It is to meet this great need, truly a STATE NEED, that the JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN is being erected wherein more them 3,500 child sufferers from all parts of Indiana will annually find relief from their suffering. It is to meet this great need that the JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION is conducting the movement to raise a $2,000,000 building fund for the erection of this great institution of mercy. It will be the gift of the people of the state to the state —in memory of Indiana’s immortal poet. AN INVESTMENT IN THE JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN IS AN INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE WELFARE OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN, AN INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE WELFARE OF THE STATE AND NATION AND AN INVESTMENT IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
