Sermons Told in Melody Bv Great Lutheran Choir
Beautiful sermons expressed in melody. That is the glorious mission of the St. Olaf Lutheran Choir of St. Ol&f College, Northfield, Minn. In concert last night at the Murat before a capacity audience, this choir brought its message of soul cheer. There is a spiritual beauty about this choir which Is seldom encountered on the concert stage. The stage last night seemed to be transformed Into a musical altar upon w,hlch was placed the spiritual harmony of great truths. It was an impressive and wonderful sight to see and hear these trained singers. F. Melius Christiansen, the director, is advancing choral art as no other director in America today. In the first place, he has trained voices accustomed to singing together. The bass of this singing organization, as well as the tenor, is not excelled and seldom equaled. The sixty-two voices at times remind one of a giant pipe organ as played by a master. Tones were hummed and floated away in memory. Ability of Singers Shown In Varied Program “The Fiftieth Psalm,” as arranged by the director, closed the program proper. It was in this psalm that the choir reveaoled its remarkable volume. A most interesting number was the “Magnificat,” by Stanley It. Avery, choirmaster and organist at the college. Here we realized the individual worth of several voices. A favorite with the audience was “The Morning Star.” choral by Philip Nicolai, dating back to 1597. Dramatic beauty was revealed in "Motet for Advent,” by Gustav Schreck. There are three movements of this motet. The choir was very generous in encores. Singing seems not only to be a mission, but a pleasure with this choir. Still more remarkable is the triumph of this organization wflen it Is remembered that all members are students of St. Olaf College. This choir strikes anew note In choral singing. Here we have choral Perfection Butter M ike Kiddies Grow.—Adv. ORGANIZED LABOR CHIEF ASKS STAIE TO IGNORE F OSTER Urges 'Greatest Punishment Possible for Radical Leader, By United Pres CHICAGO, April 9. —Matthew Woll. vice president of the American Federation of Labor, today called upon the State of Michigan to “inflict the greatest punishment possible upon William Z. Foster, liberal labor leader, by ignoring him.'* Woll Issued a statement declaring that to retry Foster In the Michigan communist cases would be “maklngf something out of nothing.” Asserting prosecution of Foster is ill-advised and it did much to “advertise him and his kind,” Woll said: “It did more than advertise him; it enabled him and his small band to capitalize this prosecution as persecution and rally the ever-sympathetic defense as well as to collect funds from them. To try Foster again will enable him and his friends to continue

my friends and ail have found great benelltH. The Cadomene tablets has done so much for mv boy who suffered with nervousness. My husband found quick relief from kidney and bladder trouble from the Balmwort tablets. Whatever medicines you have advised we have always found a success, etc.” N. M. St. Clair. Registered Nurse, 34 tV. 261 h St„ New York City, writes: "As an act of fairness to you and your medicines, I am sending you a few lines of apology, and thanks. In explanation, I wish to say that for years I was very much against all such remedies as yours, and for some now-forgotten reason, against all of your medicines in particular. "I have been benefited by some of your medicines after using them for about 814 months when ail other prescriptions did me no good at all, or relieved me only temporarily. Arbolone certainly has done for me and another member of ray family what nothing else could do. though I tried for years. Such of your medicines as I have tried personally, or family, certainly are wonders, in wishing that this will be of service, I, in part at leaNt, atone for my former opposition to your medicines." Note: Many physicians and regis tered nurses, who naturally opposed Dr. Baker's generous service to the public, now realize the tremendous good he accomplishes through tried and proven medicines. Joseph Green, R. R. 1, Peoria, rils., writes: "i wish to say that I liavo been troubled with loss of appetite, drowsiness, nervousness, black spots before my eyes. This would increase until the vision would nearly be cut off’. These spells would occur from two to four times daily—nervous headaches, one to two every week. In fact, have had this “rundown” feeling for the past 20 years, and I ani now 04. I saw Dr. Baker's prescriptions and concluded that Cadomene tablets was the tonic I needed, f bought a tube and they done me so much good I got one more and took about half of it. About this time I had a very light “Good-bye Headache,’’ and I have not had a headache or "black spot” before my eyes since. Also, I have used .Sulpherb tablets, and they have corrected me of constipation. These medicines are both worth their weight in gold, etc.” Mr. Wm. Adams, 009 Jefferson St., St. Joseph, Mo., writes: "I am writing to let you know how proud I am of your medicine. Cadomene tablets. They are wonderful. I am 21 years old and love dancing. I got myself In a run-down condition, which most young men do. I was weak and tired all the time and would go to bed and get up Just as tired as when I went to bed. I would Have dizzy spells, and had a very poor nppetlte. I have used lots of medicine, but none like Cadomene, etc.” Note: If any reader is suffering, Just write to Dr. Lewis Baker, College Bldg., Dayton, Ohio, state all your symptoms, and he will advise or prescribe to suit the caße, absolutely free of any charge for the service.
