NEW KOI PLANS LAVISH WELCOME FOR CONVENTION Chamber of Commerce Delegates and Wives Will Find Hospitality. Indianapolis business men and their •wives who attend the eleventh annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States in New York, May 10, will find something rew In store for them In the way of hospitality. A special committee of 200 of New York’s leading business men have charge of the entertainment plans. A. C. Bedford, >hairman of the board of the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey, is chairman. While the delegates attend to the business of the convention their wives will be equally busy with theatre parties, shopping tours, fashion shows and other social functions. While the executive officers, directors and national councillors of the chamber are gathered at a 6upper and smoker on the first night, their wives will be guests at a theater party. That is only a starter. On May 9 the committee has planned a tea and fashion show. In which several hundred manikins will participate. Later in the day the ladies will tour exclusive shops, under the direction of gutdes. In the evening a special performanace at the Hippodrome, with leading theatrical stars from Broadway taking part, will bring together all visitors. t CHRISTABERJND REACHES SBB,OOO Leaders Hope to Complete Campaign Sunday. With the ? 100,000 building fund for Christamore House past the $68,000 mark, preparations were being made today for an Intensive drive Sunday to complete the campaign. A breakfast at the Lincoln at 9 a. m. will open the drive. Following the day’s campaigning, a meeting will be held at the Claypoo! at 8 p. m. Five hundred dollars was received from the Indianapolis Light and Heat Company. More than_ha!f the divisions for women workers in the Sunday drive have been organized. WOMAN RECOVERS AFTER SMASH-UP Mrs. Ina Rax. IS. of 106 W. Raymond St., who was pinned under a wrecked automobile Wednesday night, was recovering from Injuries at her home today. The automobile was owned by I.eo Snyder. 140!) Terrace Ave. Andrew Sattele, 28, of 1430 S. Alabama St., was driving . The automobile In which Mrs. I.ex and her 21 months-old boy were riding with Sattele, was going south on the Bluff Rd., near Daisy St., when the car %vent over the steep embankment and struck a telephone pole, police said. Mrs. Rex's leg was caught in the wreckage and it was necessary to cut away part of the machine before she could be freed. She was taken to the city* hospital, while the boy. who was uninjured, was taken to his grandmother’s. Mrs. Rex' left the hospital today. She was suffering from a few cuts and bruises.
