The new Chaplin movie will be at the Circle next week. Chaplin’s leading woman as usual will be Edna Purviance. The Ohio exhibited wise showmanship in booking Pola Negri in “Mad ►Wve" as a counter attraction against fSpe Chaplin movie. Another feature of the bill at the Circle will be “Man vs. Beast,” a movie which shows how big game is captured in the wilds of Africa. Mister Smith’s will hold over for another week Douglas Fairbanks in “Robin Hood.” -I- -I- T Ihaplin’s Latest Comedy Due at Circle Theater The screen's foremost come-dian, Charles Chaplin, comes to the Circle Sunday in “The Pilgrim,” a story written and directed by the star, and which is the first feature-length production Charlie has made since "The Kid.’’ He ts first seen as a crook, who is escaping from prison, makes his getaway by stealing the garments of a clergyman, who is in swimming. Charlie boards'a train to get out of the prison city, and circumstances make it advisable for him to got off at a station where the congregation is waiting for the new preacher. To escape arrest the crook goes to the church, delivers the sermon in vaudeville fashion and then goes to board with an elderly lady who has a charming daughter, of whose charms he immediately becomes enamored. Following various amusing situations, the crook’s cellmate appears on the scene and steals the old lady's money. The supposed clergyman goes after him and brings him back. The sheriff finds out the truth about Char,:e, however, and takes him to the lexican border, where he has a hard ume making Charlie understand that V is going to allow him to escape into ..! xico.
