APPROVAL GIVEN TO LOCAL SOLONS ‘Non-Partisans’ Oppose Labor Unions’ Stand, Approval of the action of Representatives Edgar A. Perkins and Louis C. Schwartz of Indianapolis in voting for the amendment to tho appropriation bill designed to cut the appropriation for tho new reformatoryat Pendleton from $2,000,000 to $750,000 is expressed in a letter sent to them by the Marlon County Conference for Non-partisan Progressive Political Action. The two Representatives were criticised recently- by the Central Labor Union on the ground that the amendment would necessitate the employi ment of prison labor in the construction of the institution. "Having made a most compro- | hensive investigation of the criticism I and a thorough study of the amend- | ment, we not only- find that said j amendment positively did not mention j convict labor, but that had this j amendment been adopted it would j have prevented the employment of i convict labor,’’ the letter said. ‘MULE’ MODERN, ANYWAY Ancient Firearms Found in Shine Shop, Cops Say.
