CHIEF STARTS OUT TO COLLECT FINES Special Police Assigned to Go After Delinquents, Efforts to collect more than $5,000 in unpaid city court fines from defendants who neglected to settle inside the ninety-day stay period were started today by Police Chief Rikhoff and City Clerk John Rhodehamel. Rikhoff assigned Policewomen Buck and Brewer to confront the delinquents with commitment papers and send them to jail if they do not settle. Rhodehamel had his book.-: checked early in the year, disclosing more than SIO,OOO in fines due. Through the regular patrol force he has collected $5,000, but because too many commitments were being returned marked “not at home,” he asked the chief to give the job to special officers.
