TOWSER REJOICES AS COUNCIL VOTES TO REVIVE POUND City to Rent Humane Society Shelter House for Doggies, Fido and Tige and the other homeless residents of Dog Town, Indianapolis, were happy today. No longer will they be left on the streets to suffer from and peihaps to die of cold and starvation. The city is going to have a dog pound again. The city council Monday night passed an ordinance providing for the renting of the Indianapolis Humane Society’s shelter house on Pendleton Pike and the hiring of two city employes to take charge. $3,700 Appropriated The old city pound was closed several months ago. The ordinance appropriates $3,700 for rent and salaries. Councilman Heydon W. Buchanan and Ben H. Thompson opposed the measure. Buchanan said: "It seems foolish to spend money to collect these dogs, when the poundkeepers turn them loose in a few days and they have to be caught and brought back.” He also said he thought it unwise, with so many needy families in the city. Families in Need “This money could be placed to much better advantage in caring for starving families.” ho said. “With all due respect to Mayor Shank’s relief fund and the Community Chest, many families are in need and we should not spend this money for dogs with this condition prevalent." William T. Bailey, city attorney, said the board of works would decide how the pound would be operated. The shelter house now is being kept open by the Humane Society. PHYSICIANS ADVISE A Real First-Aid Method to Relieve and Break Up Colds It is a recognized fact that hot medicinal herb tea is one of the very best home remedies to use to assist in breaking up colds, which, when neglected, often develop into influenza, pneumonia or other serious sickness. It is old-fashioned, of course, but, nevertheless, its effectiveness is readily admitted everywhere today. Many physicians now advise their patients to always have on hand a supply of Bulgarian Herb Tea for emergency purposes. Harsh, drastic, habit-forming drugs should be avoided. Certain drugs have a tendency to depress the heart and disturb the nervous system. Druggists everywhere honestly recommend Bulgarian Herb Tea to their customers. Its gentle laxative and tonic Mualities are wonderfully healthful. Why not see your druggist at once and get a small package for emergency purposes? You or some other member of your family may need it to fight a cold this winter.—Advertise-
