PHILIP ZOERGHER SITS FIRM AFTER ATTACKjN HOUSE Resolution Asking Probe of School Affair Ruled Out x of Order, Philip Zoercher today remained firmly fixed as Democratic member of the State tax board, despite an attack upon him in the House, Wednesday afternoon. t A resolution demanding an investigation of Zoercher’s connection with Indianapolis school board affairs was ruled out of order. The resolution, introduced by George C. Stelhom, Indianapoiis, Democrat, pointed out that Zoercher, as a member of the sub-committee of the Chamber of Commerce education committee, had demanded the resignation of three school commissioners and :hnt Zoerche is one of the three men who must pass on proposed school bond issues. “The actions of said Zoercher in criticising said officials and passing judgment on said building program in advance of a hearing thereon has disqualified him to sit in judgment and act impartially thereon,” the resolu tion said. The resolution asked that Governor McCray investigate and if the contentions in the resolutions are found to be true that he remove Zoercher. Moves Law Office Attorney O. H. Powell has moved his office from 147 E. Market St., to 312 Baldwin block.

jfdlotostnp of Prayer Daily Lenten Bible reading and meditation prepared for Commieeion on Evangelism of Federal Council of Churches. THURSDAY Jesus a Preacher “Jesus came * * * preaching the Gospel of God.” Mark 1:14. Head Mark 1:14-28. “Christian faith Is belief in. Jesus Christ.” MEDITATION: Jesus meant more than intellectual assent when He preached that men should believe the Gospel. He said “repent and believe.” Does my belief in him mean any less than complete spiritual recreation? HYMN: Lord, speak to me, that I may speak In living echoes of thy tone; As thou hast sought, so let me seek Thy erring children lost and lone. PRAYER: Eternal God, who hast neither dawn nor evening, yet sends us alternate mercies of the darkness and the day, there is no light but thine, without or within. As thou llftest the curtain of night from our bodies, take also the veil from all our hearts. Rise with thy morning upon our souls; quicken all our labor and our prayer; let the noontide of thy grace and peace remain. May we walk, while it is yet day, in the steps of him, who with fewest hours, finished they divinist work. Amen.
