FRIENDS DECLARE HARDING MUSI BE CANDIDATE AGAIN President Will Make Junket Trip Around Circuit to 'Shake Hands,' By LEO R. SACK WASHINGTON, Feb. 13.—Whether he likes It or not. President Harding seems to be doomed to run for reelection to the White House. His friends and organization Republican leaders have concluded that the President’s personal wishes must net stand In the way of the party. If the Republicans are to win nest year it must be Mr. Harding who leads them, they say. With this in mind, they are urging the President to make a “swing around the circle" during the coming summer. It won’t be a campaign In the strict sense of the word, but merely a grand hand-shaking expedition. So. when Congress adjourns, and Washington becomes a dull place, and after the President and Mrs. Harding have had their little rest down in Florida, the President seems definitely in line for a long visit with the “home folks.” Rail Body Considered By Times Special WASHINGTON, Feb. 13.—President Harding Is considering appointment of a railroad fact finding body. The commission would function much in the same manner as the coal fact finding commission. A number of prominent Senators are keenly interested in the new idea. Although in three years as many directors have been appointed In the Empire State, Yellowly seems to be a sticker. Government Being Gypped By Times Special WASHINGTON, Feb. 13. —The Government Is being “gypped” and vast herds of fur bearing seals are being slaughtered is the charge before the Senate Commerce Committee by Henry W. Elliott, formerly of Smithsonian Institute. The Johnson bill before the Senate would require the Government to sell furs at auction “in the salt” Instead cf dressed and dyed as at present. Hoover Js Tired By Times Special WASHINGTON, Feb. 13. —Herbert Hoover, Secretary of Commerce, who has been food dictator both of America and Europe, is fighting shy of another dictator’s job. The veteran Senator declares the “better and better” method has already helped him. La Follette Throws "Wrench” By Times Special WASHINGTON, Feb. 13. —Senator La Follette has introduced a bill in Congress which may “throw a wrench" in the workings of the Mor-ris-Armour merger.
