VAN LOON HITS METHOD OF TEACHING HISTORY Predicts Airplane Inventors Will Surpass Roosevelt in Fame. w Too much stress is placed on political affairs and not enough on other important matters in the teaching of history, Dr. Henrik William Van Loon, lecturer, college professor and historian. told the Contemporary Club at the Propylaeum Wednesday night. A motion of Charles Batt. Terre Haute, to strike out the enacting clause of the $300,000 State police bill when it was brought up on second reading, wits tabled by the Senate today. The bill was passed to third reading. Senator Chambers moved to table Balt's motion, explaining he desired the upper house to be familiar with provisions of the bill. Senator Robert Moorehead of Indianapolis drew the measure.
