Secretary of Agriculture Wallace sends this message: “Do not worry over the shrinkage of your European market. The Government is coining to your rescue to adjust production costs, marketing conditions at home and to equalize prices.” The principal machinery through which the farmer may regain a real degree of prosperity, Wallace told the United News in an exclusive interview Friday, is the rural credits legislation now being enacted by Congress and the activity of the Department of Agriculture toward equalizing the supply of farm products with the demand for them. “Os particular advantage to the individual farmer is the Lenroot Anderson bill now before Congress,” Wallace said. “If. when enacted, it will operate as we confidently expect, it will tend to equalize the marketing of farm products and to equalize the price of farm products with other commodities. It will also remove the farmer from the influence of the money lender. The real need of the farmer is better prices and not credit. “Freight rates are still too high, especially for those who must pay for a long haul to market. Taxes are high, but this is largely due to the increase in local taxes, over which the farmers themselves must exercise control.” HOME BUILDERS ADVISED NOT TO HURRY PLANS Realtors’ Exposition Designed to Aid Householder. “People who are contemplating building homes during 1923 should wait to see the Home Complete Exposition under auspices of the Indianapolis Real Estate Board, April 2-7,” said J. WOMAN ACCUSES CALLER Man Charged With Stealing Vanity Case and Money. Patrick Stevens, 34, of 1640 Montcalm St., was arrested today on a charge of grand larceny after police said they found a vanity case and $33 belonging to Marie Lawrence, Apartment No. 9, The Marguerite. North St. and Senate Ave. She told officers she missed the valuables when Stevens left after visiting her apartment. Police said they found Stevens at 320 X. Alabama St., with Miss Lawrence’s vanity case. DOCTOR GETS SIOO FINE Found Guilty of Violating Narcotic Act. Dr. John A. Little of Logansport was fined SIOO and costs in Federal Court late Monday for violating the narcotic act. Dr. Little pleaded guilty to prescribing an overage of almost two grains of morphine daily to H. C. Walter of Logansport. Walter suffered pain which only narcotics in large quantities could east, it was contended. Mineral Company Fined Plea ling guilty, the West Baden Mineral Spring Water Company was fined S2OO and costs for violating the pure food and drug act by placing an’ nal matter in water shipped to Mrs. Edward J. Boyle of Cincinnati. Motor Meter Stolen E. C. Specklemire, Thirtieth St. and Arlington Ave., told police a motor meter was taken from his automobile.
