CLUBS CONDEMN ANTI-SPORTS BILL Resolutions Passed by Vets and Lions. Opposition to passage of the bill rhat would prohibit the Speedway i ice and other sports on Memorial ■lay gathered headway today. Iloosier Post of the Leterans of Foreign Wars, ’he Skidmore-Dean Post of the American Legion and the Lions Club passed resolutions condemning the bill, already passed by the Senate, on grounds that it is “unpatriotic, unAmerican, unfair,” and that it would mean a great loss to the State, Indianapolis and the automobile industry. Memorial day reverence is a matter •f free will and cannot be legislated into existence, it was contended by persons interested in defeating the bill. Order Sets Aside $50,000 for Use in Southwest A fund of $50,000 has been set aside by the Knights of Columbus for the relief of destitute tubercular former States of the Southwest.” Claude J. announced today at American Legion national headquarters. “Thousands of service men nave flocked to Colorado, California and States of the Southwest. Mr. Johnston had been ill for nearly five months. He was born on a farm near Greensburg. Iml., and moved to Indianapolis in ISfil. where he has since made his home.
