FOUR WIEH-MOUNT ,11011 CASES 01 SATURDAYDOCKET Volstead Officials Detained Here to Testify in Rum Charges, Four men indicted on evidence gathered by Louis Wien and John Mount, Federal prohibition agents, will be tried in Criminal Court Saturday on charges of operating a blind tiger. The defendants are James A. Lucas, 8179 N. Capitol Ave.; John H. Riley, R. R. M., Box 273; John Smith. R. R. E., Box 363, and Orville Burgess, li. R J-l, Box 165. Evans-Morgan Breach. The cases are said to be among those for which Wien and Mount were ordered to remain in Indianapolis after they had been transferred by Washington prohibition officials to Pittsburgh. The transfer of Wien and Mount has been heralded by politicians and officials as the cause of a breach between the office of Prosecutor William P. Evans and Bert C. Morgan, Federal prohibition director for Indiana. Wien and Mount work independently Morgan and charges were filed Htgainst Wien with Morgan's office. When Evans learned of the order transferring Wien and Mount he protested to Washington authorities, who suspended it until the agents finish vr-irk on ".a- .'s now pending. \ Washington dispatch today sid that an official in the office of Prohi.jitlon Director Haynes said the - esence of Wien and Mount “in Indianapolis is In no way a reflection on work being done by State Director Morgan and his men. They belong to what is known as the mobile force and they work independently of our various State organizations. Conspiracy cases and other very important phases of prohibition enforcement are generally turned over to the mobile force.” 1 DEATH NOTICES BLAIR, HELEN JUANITA—Niece of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blair.
