Never before in thè history of American trade had thè Government been called upon to serve thè relatively small producer with export information as it has in 1922. Formerly foreign trade was eonsidered. “big game” which could he captured successfully only by enormous organizations. It was considered too dangerous a venture for thè fura of average means, particularly tho.se removed from thè seaboard. Consequently, for years. great American Staples formed thè bulk of our ex port shipments and as a result profits from exports went to relatively few people in this country.
