DISPUTE!) TAXES SPENT‘LONG AGO’ Auditor Belie' es Ruling Will Not Effect County. Mai-lon County will not lose a cent as a result of thè decislon of thè Supreme Court holding invalid thè horizontal incrcase of assessments in 1919, County Auditor Leo K. Fesler believes, )ie said today. “It’s a fight over a dead horse,” he said. The Supreme Court late Frlday overrujed Judgo Linn D. Hay of Superior Court, who had refused William Bosson of Washington Townshlp an injunetion against eollection of taxes in Marion County in 1919 on thè nori-zcntally-increased assessment. Fesler said that as thè injunetion was not granted originally and thè taxes were collected and spent long ago, he did not see how thè county could refund anythlng. William Hough of thè State board of tax cominissioners, in commenting upon thè court ruling, said that, though he had not been able to interpret thè decision fully, it was hLs understanding it would have no application to thè generai taxing System, but that he belleved persona who pald taxes in Marion County that year under protest would be entitled to a refund.
