PASTO! ETNE IN mC LIFE Rev. L. C. Trent Comes to Woodruff Church. By THE VISITOR A minister who haa tlme to be a member of thè Rotary Club, thè Chain ber of Commerce, Central Welfore Coundl and other civlc orgranlzatlona will become a Citizen of Indianapolis on Jan. 1, 1923. Rev. L. C. Trent, for fourteen years pastor of thè First Baptist Church of Kevranee, 111., will become pastor of thè Woodruff Place Baptist Church in Indianapolis. By his contact with civic aflfairs, thè Rotary Clubs and other orgunizations In Kewanee, he has been able to make his church and Sunday school there among thè leaders of that State. While pastor there, hé completely cleared thè church of debt and increaaed thè membership from 700 to more than 1,000. Rev. Trent was bom on a farm in Rock Island County, Illinois, and attended high school at Cordova. Aster attending college at Rockford, Ili., he graduated from Shurtleff College, Alton, IIL In his class was Miss Maida McCormick, whom he married. The family includes two children, a boy and a girL In thè spring-of 1920, Shurtleff College bestowed on Rev. Trent thè bonorary degree of doctor of dlvinity. TRENT RECEIVER ASKED FQR APMENTS Appointment of a receiver to settle tangled financial assai rs involvlng indebtedness totaling $470,000 incurred in thè construction of thè Meridian Court Apartments, N. Meridian and Thirty-Fourth Sts., is asked in a suit to foreclose a mechanics lien on thè pieperty filed in Superior Court today egainst thè H. N. Maloney Apartment Company. Accounting of $350.000 raised by a bond issue and secured by a flrst mortgage on thè place, which was to bave betn spent in building thè apartment house, also is asked. The mcrtgage is held by G. L. Miller & Co. of At lunta. Ga. All of thè money so raised was not nut into thè construction, lt was alleged. The suit was filed by thè Roland M. Cotto, Company, who put in thè heating and piumbing at a cost of $44,000, of which they claim SIO,OOO har not been paid.
