Hodgin of Kokomo, president of thè Kokomo Stone Company, by a Grant County grand jury, was filed in thè Circuit Court by Hodgm's attorneys jrtstertiay. Hoagm was charged in thè indictments with receiving more than $lB,000 from thè county in excess payraents fcr road tnaterìals, and with tì.l- - false ciaims. in tue ntoi.on to quash it is contended that thè grand no legai authority to in tuire into thè offense charged: that thè faets charged do not eonstitute a pubiic offense, and that thè indictments do not state thè offense to be charged, as no athrmative faets are set out constituting an offense. AID SOCIETY HELPS 42 TRAVELERS EVERY DAY Girl Missing Five Months Locai ed Indianapolis. An average of forty-two persons a day was helped during thè last month by thè two agents of thè Indianapolis Travelers Aid Society at thè Union Station, Mrs. Eda Pierce, one of thè representatives, reported at a meeting of thè dlrectors. The society located a girl who had been missing troni her homo in Kansas for Ave months. The Rev. C. M. Winders was elected treasurer. INDIALA MIDSHIPMAN LOSES YEAR’S CREDIT Thomas E. Boyce of Mt. Vemon Punished for Ha/.ing. By Times Special MT. VERNON, Ind., Dee. 12. Thomas E. Boyce, midshipman at tha United States Naval'Academy at Annapolls, Md., whose home is in thia city, dii lose a year of his academic course because of participating in hazing at thè academy, Secretary of Navy Denby has ruled, according to word received here by Harry A. Boyce, father of thè young man. Boyce was one of several midshlpmen brought before a court martial at thè academy charged with neglact of ’uty in that they were in charge ol tsbles at which midshipmen were hazed. The court-martial recornmended dismissal, but President Harding, on thè recommendation of Secretary Denby, modified thè orders.
