Owners of War Savings stampa Which mature Jan. 1, 1923, ha ve been requested by thè Postoffice Department at Washington to tura in folders with stamps attaché! to thè locai postoffice as soon as possible. By so doing a last-minute rush will be avoided. The stamps will be redeemed at their face value. The law requiree that thè stamps be attached to a folder when presented for payment. Stamp owners who have not obtained these folders should get applications for them from thè postoffice and send them to thè postmaster aster filling them out.

There are only forty-eight sire boxes in thè city located near column lights. John Berry, chief engineer of thè electrical department, has recommended to thè board of safety that all other boxes be marked by half red and half white globes on are lights. Fire department records show only about fifteen per cent of thè alarms come over thè sire alarm System. The majority come hy telephone.
