He wears thè Italian cross awarded for meritorious Services in thè war and lias been dubbed “The Duke’' by his teammates. Back lioine, at Aurora, 111., Hanny is known as a mernber of
thè famous Aurora high school football eleven whlch went east in 1915 and lost to New York, 13 to 12, for thè high school championship of thè l'nlted States. During that year and ihe year before thè opponente of Hanny's eleven scored only twenty points as compared to 700 so rthe Aurora team. Entered Before War Frank carne to Indiana University ;he year before thè war and easily made thè freshman team. He carne back to Indiana In 1920 and that year performed' thè remarkable feat of allowing only four yards to be gai ned around hlm by an opponent thè entire season. Last year he was unfortunate in receiving a severe injury to his shoulder in thè Harvard game, which kept hi mout of most of thè rernaining conteste. Aster a summer driving spikes in thè West with a railroad sectlon gang, Frank is as hard as nails. He plays end on defense and is often shifted to half back on thè offensive. He weighs 192, Is six feet tali and is 24 years old. STATE COLLEGE ATHLETIG HIS 111 MEETING HERE Indiana Institutions to Complete Organization Plans Saturday for New Conference. The annual meeting of thè Indiana Intercollegiate Conference will be held Saturdaj' at thè Claypool Hotel at 11 a. m. The meeting will be largely d ev(J ted to completing thè organization. * At thè organization meeting last June a constitution was adopted and thè schools represented were to offer it to thelr respective faculty athletla committees for approvai or rejection. It was understood that all of thè colleges who voted favorably at that Urne would enter thè association, but to date only five schools have formaily applled for admission. These Institutlons are Purdue, Manchester, State Normal, Hanover and N. A. G. U. College of Indianapolis. Wabash college, which did not favor thè organization last June, has askei to be allowed to send a delegate to thè meeting and it ls thought tha F'rawfordsville College will fall In line. The bone of contentlon last June was thè freshman rule, whicl| prohibits first-year men from parti©* ipatlng in athletics. Schedule maklng will also be taken up at thè gathering by thè various athletlc dlrectors and coaches who will attend. N. A. Kellogg, athletio director at Purdue, ls prcsident of thè conference and B.
