MAJ. LANDIS MADE HEAD OF AVIATION DEPARTMENT Alvin M. Owsley, national commander of thè American Leglon, has appointed Maj. Reed Greshain Lon<lis, son of former Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis, head of thè newly created aviation department, it was announced today. A resolution providing for thè appointment was adopted at thè national convention at New Orleans. The resolution previde* for thè appointment of a eommittee of five to cooperate with thè United States Government in aeronautics in thè commercial field. This is to provide for a number of trained flìers to be at thè command of thè Government in case of emergency, according to officiala at thè legion headquarters.
