Patrolman Moore in an automobile drtven by Alien Sims, 861 N. Senato Ave., pursued tlie driver and at Eleventh and Missouri Sts.. Sims blocked thè escaplng automobile. The driver jumped out and ran. William Warwick, 831 Paca St., thè title showed, owned thè car. Ile was at home when thè polire arrived and vxplained he had left thè car with James Taylor, 418 N. West St., to be repaired. Taylor was not at home when thè polire went to his residence. Mrs. Warfleld wtts taken to thè city hospital. Some of her rihs were broken. She also suffered internai itijuries. Taylor was later arrested, charged with failm-e to stop aster an accident. ANDERSON SENTENCES MAN TO JAIL FOR CONTEMPT Nelson Nanney of Evansv-ille. formerly employed by thè Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad, was sentenced by Judge Albert B. Anderson, Saturday, in Federai Court, to serve thirty days in thè Marion County jail when he was sound gullty of criminal contempt of court. Nanney was speciflcally charged with having cursed deputy. United States marshalß. tv r ho had ordered hirn to move on. Tlie complaint aLso alleged that he had tfefled and cursed Judge Anderson. Nanney denied that he had cursed thè officers. but said that he had not obeyed Federai effleers. “Labor leaders say they have counseled against violence, and if there is violence they say they tried to prevent it. The lower level of prices was attributed to news of a sha.rp decline in Llverpool, where thè prices at 2 o’clock were from 1 to 1% pence lower. Wheat receipts were estimated at seventy cars. Trading was largely by domestlc shippers. Trading in cprn was light at thè opening, with prices slightly off. A large movement of corn from thè farms influeneed thè drop.
