Titled ladies, beautiful patricians and a proportion of lessar aristocrats turned out for thè meeting. There was an impressive display of rich gowrs, sparkling jewels, costly furs, limousines and footmen in bright liverles. The unique meeting demonstrated that British society women are giving up bridge parties and teas for sober politicai meetings as thè election campaign reaches its climax. For thè first time, thè rcal aristocrats amorig English women are rivaling tho professional suffragista in their display of politicai interest. They previously disdained politics.
