JUOGE REVERSES VERDICT OF JIIRY IN NELSON CASE Court Finds That Minister Lied in Testimony and Rebukes Jury. Indianapolis friends of thè Rev. T. T. Nelson, fonnerly headiof tho Pentecostal bands in Indianapolis, failed in their efforts to convince a judge at Waukegan. 111., that Wilbur Glenn Vo--11 va. overseer and high priest of Zion City, had libeled Nelson. According to dispatches from Waukegan, Voliva was sound guilty of libel by a jury. but Judge Claire C. Edwards set thè jury’s verdict asicle. The Rev. -Mr. Nelson’s lihel charges were an outgrowth of thè famous Zion City “religious war,” and Voliva was alleged to bave called liiin a "toni cat. a ram and a wild man of Borneo.” It was admitted that Voliva called thè Rev. Nelson all that and more, but tlie defense contender! Voliva merely spoke thè truth. The jury was out three hours and took two ballota. Its verdict carried thè possibility of a maximum sentence of one year’s imprisonment and a SSOO fine, and opened thè way to civil suits. The Rev.
