May Department Stores spurted TU to a new 1922 high at 142 while Standard Oil of New Jersey sold at 211 against Monday's low of 2C>4’j. Baldwin, Studebaker. Steel common and other industriai leaders reflected considerarle short covering. Good bttylng of stocks took place on thè declino in Monday's late trading. J„ Oct. 31.—A legai agreement of extraordlnary character has been flled in thè county clerk's office, through which thè limb of an appiè tree will net thè owner $5,000, and possibly a email fortune later. Lewis Mood, a thrifty farmer at Ferreil, a few miles below this city, has an ore hard that has yielded an immense crop of thè "Stark l>eliclous” appiè, a standard varlaty. Mood noticed a limb on one of thè trees that produced a deep red appiè, while on other Hmbs thè fruit is of a tight color. Special attention waa paid to this limb, and a nursery’ farm In Missouri was notified.
