Reeeipts, at 8,000, had little to do with thè sharp break In prìces, although there was a heavy stale supply. Starting out at almost unchanged fìgures of $9.25 for a few shipplng orders, thè market dropped sharply to $9.15, at which figure some business was dono. Then a perlod of stagnation ensued, practically no hogs passlng over thè scalea. Aster many conferences. thè large buyers entered bids of $9, but there were few takera until it developed that there were’ no buyera at better fìgures. Sales were frequent aster thls, and on a large scale. All weights brought thè sanie priee. Pigs went over at thè price of ths load as a rule, but there were some that brought slightly more. A scarcity of lights and llght-llghts aocounted for this. Sows held remarkably steady, stili being quoted at $7.50CfT.75, with a few choice packera at SB. With reeeipts of 800, tlie cattle market was steady to weak. There was I little dlfficulty in disposing of stock. !
