WILL VISIT SITE OF LIU HE historical Cojnmission and Memorial Association Heads Plan Trip. John W. Oliver, director of the State historical commission, accompanied by the trustees of the Indiana Lincoln Memorial Association, will leave next Tuesday for Spencer County to look over the site where the former President lived, and the Lincoln family cemetery. Following this trip, according to Oliver, the trustees will then decide on the kind of memorial to erect. The State now owns nine acres of land in Spencer County which takes in the former home of Lincoln and other historic spots pertaining to the life of Lincoln. A campaign will be launched throughout the State to raise funds to erect the memorial, Oliver said. This campaign will be put through by the Marion County Bar Association, the Lincoln Memorial Association, the State historical commission and other civic organizations. GIVEN TERM FOR STEMS lISES Donnelley Says He Paid $l5O ‘Protection’ Money. Patrick Donnelley has been sentenced to from one to fourteen years in the State prison and fined $1 and costs by Judge James A. Collins of Criminal Court for the theft of fourteen automobile tires from the Nordyke & Marmon plant. Donnelley is said to have been identified as the man who was connected with the operation of a blind tiger raided by police and Federal officers a: 116 E. Ohio St., Aug. 31, In which three gallons and twenty one-half pint bottles of “mule” were confiscated. Prosecutor Evans said that the charge standing against him in this case probably would not be carried into court. H'OME Tiernan Returns By United .Vries SOUTH BEND, Ind., Oct. I£. Prof. John P. Tiernan of Notre Dame University, is living again with Mrs. Augusta Tiernan, his wife, who was the principal figure in the TlernanPoulin paternity case, and has returned from her mother's home in Michigan to sue for divorce. Professor Tiernan, however, did not return from choice. The Y. M. C. A. authorities told him he would have to leave the Y. M. C. A. dormitory, where he had taken up his abode. Secretary William A. Danner, Jr., of the “Y” said a number of “leading citizens” had protested against the professor’s continued residence in the dormitory, so, although Tiernan was allowed to stav a few r nights, his application for a permanent room was “not approved” and he was forced to take his baggage and depart.

Inventor Is As Happy As a Boy “I am now sixty-four years old, but since taking Tanlac I feel as active and spry as I did fifteen or twenty years ago. I seem to have anew lease on life and have answered many ouestions lately as to what put me on my feet again. My weight has also increased twenty pounds, and I feel that it would be ungrateful of me not to tell others what this medicine has done in my case.” The above statement was made, a few days ago, by Daniel L. Appleberry, 18 State St., Hammond. Ind. Mr. Appleberry has been an inventor for forty years. His successful and practical inventions include railway devices; also a meat slicer an l sawing machine, all cf which, he says, are patented and in use throughout the United States and Europe. “Before I took Tanlac," said he, “I was just about down and out. My stomach was all out of fix. my appetite gone and my nerves all unstrung. I suffered from constipation, headaches and dizzy spells, and my burden of misery was made all the more heavy by backache and rheumatic pains in my arms. Well, my troubles are all In the past now and Tanlac has built me up until I feel healthy and happy like a boy.” Tanlac is sold by all good druggists. —Adv. AMUSEMENTS
