AIMED BY UPTURNED AUTO Ollie K. Miller Seriously Injured —Released From Position by Police. When an automobile plunged from a culvert Into a ditch and turned over early today, Ollie K. Miller, 80, 3700 block on S. Meridian St. was pinned under the automobile and seriously Injured. The accident occured on Troy Ave., a half mile east of Shelby St. The ditch is about five feet deep. Miller suffered a broken leg and possible internal injuries. A. O. Pierson, 444 N. Gray St., was passing in his automobile and when he found he was unable to lift the car off of the injured man he drove to a residence some distance from the scene and notified the police. Motor Police Anderson and Giggs, assisted by three men pgssing in an automobile, righted the wrecked car. C, G. Fesler said. DEDICATE NEW SCHOOL B. J .Burris is Speaker at Exercises at Lawrence. The new $176,000 public school of Lawrence township was dedicated last j night. The principal dedicatory ad- j dress was made by Benjamin J. Bur- j ris. State superintendent of public in-j struction. “Indiana's most vital question is; education,” said Mr. Burris. “Fifty j years ago $75,000,000 was expended i for elementary and high school edu- j cation and last year $760,000,000 was; expended and on increased is de- j nianded." NEGRO IS SHOT Daniel Chambers ( laims Wound Is Result of Accident. Danigi,Chambers. 43, negro, of 832 TorbeftSt., was in the city hospital today suffering from a bullet wound in the left side of hU jaw. Chambers claimed he was accidentally shot with an automatic pistol which he had given to Verner Belcher. 28. negro, of 940 Paca St., to examine. The shooting occurred at the Paca St., address last night. Belcher was held on a vagrancy charge while the police investigate the shooting. Charn-1 bers was held -n the detention ward at the hospital, having been arrested on the charge of unlawul possession of firearmr. RAID HOTEL Police Place Manager. Two Men and Two Women Under Arrest. Five persons were arrested last night when a police squad raided the Cico Hotel. 124 E. New York St. Charles Stevens. 39, manager of the hotel, was arrested. Two men and two women found in the hotel were arrested on statutory charges. Those arrested gave their names as Harry Brown, 34, and Edith Jones. 31. both of Cicero; John Eck. 39, of 831 N. Dearborn St., and Garnet Frankes, 29, of 331 S. Temple Ave. All were released on cash bands

SEEK LOUISVILLE MAN Police Asked to Aid Wife in Locating .Joe Rosner. The police of this city were searching for Joe Rosner, of Louisville, Ky., inday. Mary Rosner told the police that her husband disappeared from his home in Louisville, Oct. 4. ADOPT RESOLUTION Lutherans Heartily Endorse Labors ot Near East Relief. After an address by Mead A. Kelsey, secretary of Near East Relief, Wednesday, the Indiana Synod of the United Lutheran Church of America, in session at St. Mark’s Church, Prospect and Linden Sts., unanimously adopted the following resolution: “The attention of the Indiana Synod of the United Lutheran Church has been called to the service of the Near East Relief organization on behalf of thousands of orphan children in the Bible lands and also to its prompt and effective response to the need of those who were overwhelmed at the Smyrna disaster.
