CARE HEELS. RIMS ESSENTIAL Few Motorists Realize Necessity of Rim Adjustments. "The wheels are the most important part of automobiles,” opinion expressed by F. AV. Dennerline, manager of the Indiana Wheel and Rim Company, 40 W. North St. "Automobiles under modem conditions of development have reached a point where they are able to do just about anything." he continued. "They will run without tires, fenders, hood, or body, but no one has been able to make one run under normal conditions successfully without wheels. "But many motorists are shamefully neglectful of this vital part of their car. An automobile is just as good as Its wheels. More and more car owners are awakening to the importance of lookipg after the wheels and rims the same way that they watch other vital parts of their car. “No-past of a car is subjected to harder usage greater strain, more pounding than the wheels. They may become a source of endless trouble and great expense If not given a fair share of the attention they deserve. They get out of lire and create uneveness of road surface which cuts tires to pieces In a short time. They get changed about, develop many different tunes and annoying squeaks. Our company was organized for the sole purpose of correcting, preventing and curing wheel and rim troubles. We are taking nerve-wracking squeaks out of rims every day—we are repairing rims so that they won't cut the valve stems. We are prepared to replace all lost or broken parts, carrying in stock as we do parts for practically every known make of wheel, whether wood, wire or disc. "Many a motorist complains about poor tire mileage and flies from brand to brand without satisfaction. He blames the tires for faulty mileage when the real blame should rest on a faulty rim or Improperly aligned wheels; also on his own head Tor not looking after them." DRIVER ARRESTED Fred Thomas, Though Injured, Is Held Responsible. Abe Kelstein, 822 S Illinois St., escaper! injury when a truck he was driving turned over today. The truck collided with an automobile driven by Fred Thomas, 625 W, Allegheny St. Thomas was severely cut by broken glass. He is held in the detention ward at the city hospital on charges of Improper driving and having no certificate of title.

TIRE SERVICE VITAL FACTOR "Invite Fs to Your Next Blowout,” is Lee Tire Service Slogan. Punctui#s, blow outs and all the thousand and one inconvenient nerve wracking things that can happen to an automobile tire need have no terrors for motorists who are customers of the Lee Tire Service Company according to H. Tumbleson manager of the company. “Invite us to your next blowout,” is the slogan and motto of the company and it is the serious way of stating that service is their first aim. The company maintains a fleet of service cars for free road service which is at the disposal of the motoring public twenty-four hours a day. Mr. Tumbleson said. "In making these calls in all sorts of out of way places, wo find that most tire troubles arise from improper in spection and inflation. The one thing that we find causes the greatest part of the trouble is the habit many drivers have of kicking their tires and then judging the pressure. This is a popular but primitive method and is costing motorists millions of dollars every year in added unnecessary expense. "Tire engineering has provided for tho strengthening binding and flexing in a tire where it is most needed; there fore when a strain is thrown on any portion of a tire not otherwise provided for, the strongest carcass will give away in time. "The kicking habit invariably proves disastrous especially when the car is equipped with Lee Puncture Proof tires, as the sturdy construction of this tire will cause a 'kicking guess’ to be 30 per cent underestimated. “The only sure way is the use of an air gauge and it will pay for itself many times. "Experimental tests have shown that in order to blow out anew first class tire by additional air pressure, it is necessary to exert a force of over thirty times the recommended pressure; therefore there is absolutely no reason, as far as a blow-out is concerned, for a reduction of pressure besore5 ore starting on a long run during hot iays. TTie important point to remember is at all times to have enough pressure, and it is very rarely that one has too much. A little constant atention to inflation and general condition of the motorist's tires will reduce their troubles to a minimum. But if trouble does come a call for Circle .1000 will find us ready to send almost instantaneous aid." STABBED IN BACK White Man Is Wounded By Negro In Brawl at Home of Negroes. Marion Elsworth Stewart, 48. of 507 *4 Massachusetts Ave., white, was in the city hospital today suffering from a stab wound in the back. The police were searching for Dan Tatlor, negro, whose home is some place in the northeast part of the city. The stabbing took place it is said \\hen Tailor became jealous when he found Stewart at the home of his sweetheart, Alma Bonnet, negress, 926 Pomeroy St. The stabbing was at the woman's home. Miss Bennet was arrested on a charge of vagrancy, and Stewart is held on a similar charge in the detention ward at the city hospital, but the police failed to find Tailor.

REP! KIT BOON TO MOTORISTS Seal Fast Kit Manufactured by Robert M. Bowes Company of This City. “In merchandising the Seal Fast repair kit. it has bgen our idea from the start that if a merchant had a good product which can be counted on to do all or more than he claims for It the proper thing to do is to give public demonstrations showing just what may be expected of the aritcle in question,” is the expression of an official of the Robert M. Bowes Company, 124 E. Ohio St., manufacturers and distributors of the well known Seal Fast minuteman repair kit for the repair of automobile, mo torcycle and bicycle tubes. "In accordance with this demonstration plan Seal Fast has been shown in practically every city of any consequence in the country. Motorists who have had the bad luck of getting stuck out of town, out of tubes, and with no repair kit, takes very kindly to the Idea of purchasing a kit which he has seen tested out before his eyes under the most trying conditions in a demonstration at an accessory store. "He sees that our confidence in our product is well grounded He knows that Seal Fast repairs both punctures and blowouts. It is easily and quickly applied. It requires the use of no cement, heat, gasoline or heavy equipment. The repair Is made by the use of our solvent and rubber welding compound, which partially devulcanizes the tube and welds the repair Into an integral part of the tube itself. "The kit Is id-a 1 for roadside work. That is the biggest reason why it h.-v taken hold the way it has. Being both economical and saving in time, it has proved Its worth to motorists all over the country—and our sales are increasing every week. I feel safe in saying that It Is one of the fastest and most reliable tube repair kits on tbe market "Our faith In the product has led u* to make our 'money back’ guaranteee and the fact that we have not been called upon to refund money is the most certain proof that Seal Fast has proven satisfactory to the motoring public.”

PRESSED HOPS KEEP FLAVOR Product Made From Best and Latest Oregon Crop. It’s hard to tell by looking at hops, either loose or pressed, whether they are fresh or not, is the opinion of Cart L. Walters, proprietor of the Malt Adc Supply Company, 12 Pembroke Arcade. "We would keep on telling our customers until the cows come home that loose hops lose their flavor and that pressed hops are the best in every case and they wouldn't understand why ufiless we asked them to smell the difference. Loose hops smell like old straw or hay but the pressed variety is so pungent and sharp that it almost hurts the nose. "The finest hop growing section of; America is in the State of Oregon. The pressed product sold by the Malt Ade Supply Company is made exclusively from the best and latest Oregon crop. In spite of the enormous de mand for pressed hops we have never lowered our quality." Mr. Walters said. "The average housewife has found by experience that it pays to buy only the best hops money can get. That is why we supply the best avail able from the finest groves of the world.” BUSINESS MAN DIES Armin Bohn Was Treasurer of Fletcher Savings and Trust.
