ASKS INCREASE 111 ! 'Omni fare Street Railway Company Petitions for 10-Cent Night Charge to Offset Loss. The Indianapolis Street Railway Company has filed a petition with the public service commission firkins, authority to increase the “owl” car fares from 6 to 10 cents, declaring the "owl” service is being provided at an annual loss of $15,000. "Owl" cars operate between 12:30 and 5 a. m., principally for the convenience of night workers and travelers arriving on late trains. Ap- ■ proximately 350,000 persons are carried annually on these cars, and the proposed increase, the company says, would meet the deficit. WANTS EFFICIENCY Seven south side women will tell ' Maj-or Shank how to run the police department. At a meeting of the Oarfleia Civic ! League Mrs. Charles Werbe. Mrs. * Samuel Davis. Mrs. Emma Flick, Mrs. Dora Davis, Mrs. Thomas Carey, Mrs. M. Pray and Mrs. J. Presnal were named to tell how to increase efficiency of the cops.
