the purely religious and spiritual significance of Rosh Hashonah to the Jews of the world, and recognizing with our Jewish fellow citizens the mutual obligations of our common Americanism which makes no distinction of religion, race or class and demands only that each and every man, whether Jew or Christian, though loyal to his own creed shall be mutually tolerant toward the other, and together shall labor for the upbuilding of a happy and \ prosperous united America. We, the undersigned merchants of Indianapolis, Jews and Non-Jews, in this time of world-wide unrest and strife, unite to take advantage of tk ’ advent of the Jewish religious New Year to solidify the long existing bonds of mutual good will, friendship and peace among the citizens of all creeds in Indianapolis — And to wish one and all, spiritually as well as materially, A Happy and Prosperous New Year.
