RUSSIAN HELD US SLIM OF WIFE Frieda Lukaszevich Dies Ten Minutes After CuttingJealousy Seen as Motive. Peter Lukaszevich, 41, a Russian, proprietor of a grocery at 993 TV. Washington St., was charged with murder today after he is said to have confessed that he cut his wife with a butcher knife. Frieda Lukaszevich, 40, the wife, who had been living In a house on' Hudson St., in the rear of IS3O N, Alabama St., died last night at the city hospital. She was stabbed in the breast and the left side of the abdomen. Her little finger on her right hand was almost severed. Lukaszevich, following the cutting, which occurred in the street near the Alabama St., address went to his grocery and was arrested there by the emergency squad which had been told by the wounded woman where her husband probably would be found. Mrs. Lukaszevich died ten minutes after reaching the operating room at the hospital. , The police said Lukaszevich was jealous of a soldier who had called on Mrs. Lukaszevich a number of times. Two months ago the Lukaszevlchs separated and planned divorce proceedings. Mrs. Lukaszevich lived at the residence on Hudson St., while her husband lived at his grocery on W. Washington St. The woman’s daughter Mrs. Lottie Skabach, 956 W. Pearl St., said her father and mother left the W. Washington St. store together before 6 p. m. last night. She identified the blood covered knife found near the wounded woman as one which was used in the grocery to cut cheese. Reports Tire Theft E. F. Danner, 2625 TV. MflfSigan St., told the police today a thief stole a tire from his automobile which was parked in front of the Denison hotel. The tire was worth $35.

ASK FLOOD DAMAGES Residents X'ear Big Eagle Creek Say Railroads Caused Overflow. Damages for destruction of property by a flood of Big Eagle Creek last April, was asked by twelve property owners In separate suits filed In the Circuit and Superior courts. The Big Four and the Pennsylvania railroads were made defendants on thfe grounds that they obstructed the stream by dumping earth in it. Total claims amount to $12,950. The plaintiffs, who live in West Indianapolis, are: Samuel Bridgewater, Eliza M. Alexander, Wilbur Catt, Alice Keefer, Paul and Elzora Bower, Ellis TV. Keefer, Carrie B. Watson, Nannie | B. Moore, Henry Duerr, Edward and j Anna Brand, John Mascoe aiW Otis j Breedlove. NO SEARCH WARRANT Judge Collins Hears Appeal Case of 1 William Lawler. For the first time in the Criminal Court of Marion County an exhibit 1 of liquor seized without a search warrant was shown as evidence. The j liquor was seized at the room at j 1237% Oliver St., belonging to William Lawler, * Lawler pleaded guilty in city court to a charge of operating a blind tiger. He was fined SIOO and costs and given sixty days in jail. Then he! appealed the case. William Riley, counsel for the de- 1 fendant. moved to strike out the evidence. Judge James A. Collins con-1 tinued the case. MATURE LOVES BRIGHT COLORS We see the truth of this statement in | the vari-colored flowers, the vivid sun- j sets, the bird* of brilliant plumage. But 1 we never see It exemplified more attrae- j tivelv than in the person of a splendidly | healthy woman. How does nature paint this health? Why, in the rosy cheeks, the transparent skin, the smooth red lips of such a woman. And she molds it I in firm tlesh ad rounded contours. The ailing woman Is deficient In natural col- j oring, and she does not even appear to advantage in clothes that would set off ; her-more attractive sister. Many women who long for glowing health will find that they, too, can have these charms if they will give a trial to that remedy which brings strength to frail women— Lydia E.
