Aug. 4.—Lo- 1 cal citizens are getting ready to show | Indiana war veterans they have not forgotten how America “made the i world safe for democracy.” During September close to 15,000: members of the American Legion will invade Terre Haute for the State j convention. General Pershing and his staff, a; high official of the United States Navy and several other Government officials will be on hand. One entire floor at the Deming Hotel has been reserved for “notables.” Vets will stay in Pulllman cars and a drive is being made to secure about j 7,000 rooms in private homes. Officials of the Ft. A stabbing affair that may result fatally to one man occurred on the bridge over Big Eagle creek west of the Indianapolis motor speedway late yesterday. Hours later the police learned of the fight.
