GOLF POOS WILL IB!FOB RECORD Oil NEW COURSE British Players Meet in Match Play Wednesday Afternoon. Abe Mitchell and George Duncan, the visiting British golfers, will try to establish a course record at the new Highland links, Fifty-Fourth St., just off the Michigan road, next Wednesday in their two eighteen-hole exhibitions. Whether they will be able to get a score below par is conjectural, for Highland par is a difficult one. However, with Mitchell’s long drives and with Duncan’s uncanny accuracy of his iron shots and putting, it is likely that a score will be made which will stand for many moons as the Highland course record. In the morning, Mitchell and Duncan will face two of Indiana’s best amateurs, Johnny Simpson. State champion, and B.lly Reed, Indianapolis champion. In the afternoon, Duncan and Mitchell will meet Lee Nelson, professional at the Indianapolis Country Club, and his brother. Chick Nelson, pro af Kokomo. The Duncan-Mitchell committee announces that Guk K. Jeffries, general manager of the T. H. & I. interurban, has arranged for all cars, including limiteds. to unload and take on passengers at Stop S on the Indianapolis & Northwestern electric, Wednesday. Stop 3 is two blocks west of the entrance to the Highland links. The committee has also arranged for lunch and refreshments to be served during the day. Automobilists may drive out Michigan road, which is paved to the road which leads to the links. The morning round will begin at 10 o’clock and the afternoon one at 3 o’clock.
