France has long wanted Great Britain to ratify the treaty and Premier Lloyd George, it is believed, now sees an opportunity to offer this guarantee In exchange for an abandonment of French insistence on the indemnity bilL Great Britain also may Insist on a withdrawal of the armies of occupation from the Rhine. t PLOT TO KILL POINCARE PARIS, July 28.—The French government has been reliably informed that German monarchists are plotting to assassinate Premier Poincare, according to the newspaper, L’lntransigeant, today. It is understood that the French ambassador to Berlin received the report from the police.
