LYNCH TO TOUR WEST New Champs to Make Up SIO,OOO Loss by Series of Scraps. By Unite d .Vctca NEW YORK, July 21.—Western boxing clubs soon will be permitted to reimburse Joe Lynch, the come-back champion of the bantamweight, for the SIO,OOO loss that he suffered in regaining the title from Johnny Buff. Lynch will go to a summer resort In New York State for a short time and then will go West to pick up as much easy money as there is to be had for no-decision bouts with obscure local champions. Lynch had to dig into his own pocket for SIO,OOO to make up a deficit between the receipts and Buff’s guarantee of $30,000 in their recent fight. "Muddy” Ruel is studying law. Speaker is a contractor. Some of the smart players, who have made big money and divided world’s series spoils, have made good investments. There aren't enough of them, however, to make a team. Flattering inducements to college players this season made the largest Invasion of diplomas on the diamond in years. With former major leaguers coaching at nearly all the big universities, the major league managers aren't taking a big gamble in going heavy after college stars.
