MALE OF SPECIES WILL SOON BE , BALD HEADED In Hundred Years _ All Domes Will Be With- - out Hair. By PHIIAJP STOKES, t'nited Press Staff Correspondent. WASHINGTON, July 7.—The male of the species is going baldheaded. Twenty-five hundred years from now the shiny dome will prevail and only a comparatively few males will boast of a head of hair. The foregoing conclusion was reached by Dr. Ales Heldllcka of the division of pathology of the Smithsonian institute, after a study of why the modern young man is showing a tendency toward baldness. Nature, Dr. Heidlicka said, decided that the male of the species no longer requires a protective skull thatch. Dr. Heidlicka told the United Press today that baldness appears Inevitab.e and that nature started the work of denudation 2,500 years ago. , Dissipation, fast living and modern life are contributing, causes, he said. But it isn't. It’s a weather bulletin broadcast from the U. S. naval radio station at Arlington. You can receive this report twice a day—at noon and 10 at night—if you can tune In to 2500 meters wave length. And you can understand the report—if you know the code. The letter before each of the groups of numerals stands for a central point in a weather district for which reports are made. They are: S—Sidney, Nova Scotia; T—Nantucket, R. I.; DB—Delaware Breakwater; H—Cape Hatteras, N. C.; C Charleston, S. C.; K—Key West, Fla.; P—Pensacola, Fla.; B—Bermuda. The first three numerals represent the barometer reading. In the Sidney district. for example, the barometer reading would be 30.2 L The next figure represents the direction of the wind. The attached M diagram shows how itU/ig l' N S>£ numerals are used to 7° indicate points of o/t _jV the compass for y w J wind directions. For V* 4, J instance, around I 3 Sidney the direction O is given as 8, which would be northwest, acording to this diagram. | Finally, wind velocity Is given with . the fifth numeral.
