ATTACK JENKINS Mexico Assassins Make Second Unsuccessful Assault on American, * By Ufitted MEXICO CITY, July s.—An unsuccessful attempt has been made to assassinate W. O. Jenkins of Puebla, according to reports printed in the Mexican press here. Jenkins, an American, was Involved in a sensational episode two years ago when he was thrown in jail by Mexican authorities after being kidnaped by bandits and held for ransom. Jenkins escaped his would-be assassins uninjured, but two men accompanying him were killed, according to reports here. The attack is credited to agraristas. Mexican military officials have turned the investigation of the Bielaski kidnaping case over to the civil court in the State of Morelos. EXTEND TREATY Experts Will Draft Program for Limiting Navies of Other Nations. By United Nr vs PARIS, July 5. —The Initial :tep toward extending the Washington raval limitation treaty to all powers in the League of Nations has been taken. This proposal, made by Rear Admiral Segrave of Great Britain, was adopted in principle at a session of the armament commission of the League of Nations here Tuesday. It was decided to have a committee of experts draft a detailed program for applying the principles laid down in the naval treaty to the other world powers represented in the league. 2 AUTOMOBILES RECOVERED Five Stolen on Fourth, According to Police Reports. Os five automobiles reported to police as stolen on the Fourth, two were recovered. The cars recovered belong to Frank Neidhamer, 3340 N. Meridian St-, and Dr. Schlosser of Franklin, Ind. Cars stolen from Paul Koehring. 324 S. Emerson Ave., J. M. Darmody, 2527 W. Maryland St., and E. L. Gibson, 323 N. Delaware St., are still missing.
