FOREIGN TRADE OF U. S. STILL IS ON DECLINE Reports of Department oi Commerce Reveal Marked Slump. WASHINGTON, June 2.—America’s foreign trade still is on the decline, Department of Commerce reports are showing. Exports for April totaled $318,099,595, compared with so-H>.404.10C last April, while imports for this April totaled $-17,073,332, compared with $254,579,3-5 for last April. Imports for the ten months ended with this April totaled $-2,094,851,036, compared with $3,2C3.858,251 for the same period ending with last April. Exports for the ten months" period totaled $3,128,505,902, compared with s•">.849,901,848 for the corresponding period last year. SHIPPING BOARD MAY SOON BE DISCONTINUED Depends on Passage of Ship Subsidy Bill by Congress. WASHINGTON, June 2.—Abolition of the I'nited States Shipping Board in the event Congress falls to pass the ship subsidy bill, is contemplated Ly President Harding, it was learned authoritatively today. Reserve Corps Men Will Play Games WASHINGTON, June 2—Members of the Reserve Corps, both officers and enlisted men. may compete for places on teams to represent the Army, according to a decision made by Secretary of War Weeks. The Secretary ruled that the Reserve Corps men, as components of the I nif-d States Army, are entitled to try fur places on teams in any games in which the Army as a unit may take part.
