CONCLAVE OF REPUBLICANS TAME AFFAIR Delegates Do Not Like Lack of Frills and Thrills. NO BIG CONTESTS Naming of Lynch Last Business Except Oratory. When the Republican State convention closed, after a two-day session devoted principally to oratory and lacking any semblance of a contest, either In the adoption of a platform or the naming of candidates, tee delegates themselves expressed disappointment that both the thrills and frills which they came to Indianapolis for had been lacking. The last of the delegates were departing for their homes today. With the nomination of Patrick J. Lynch of Newcastle for renomlnatton for clerk of the Supreme Court, business of the convention ended. Except for one and one-half hours, the entire convention was taken np with platform speeches, and the remainder was concerned with the reading of the platform and the nomination of candidates. When Rush County was called on in balloting for Lynch and Roberts, the latter, whose candidacy appeared more formidable than was anticipated, rose to the speakers’ platform and after a brief speech asked that the nomination of Lynch be made unanimous.
