ORGANIZE!) IN' 1913: INTERRIPTKD BY WAR. The association was organized in 1913. After a-promising start it bumped into war time conditions and died an untimely death a few years iater. In 1020 It was revived and since then has grown steadily uutii it is one of the strongest organizations of its kind in Indianapolis. Organized primarily to promote industrial conditions in this particular section of Indianapolis, it has extended its activities until it has assumed a ■ important place in the civic life of Indianapolis. •'Prom the first v* realized that if we were selfish and placed our own interests ahead of these of the city as a whole wo could i.ot hope to succeed. EMPLOYMENT OF SERVICE MEN NEARS NORMAL Indiana Division of American Legion Announces Success of Campaign. Almost ail of the unemployed ex-serv-i •! men in Indiana have been employed. This was the report of the Indiana division of the American Legion today in announcing its success iu the drive to place ToO.OOO unemployed ex-service men throughout the United States, inaugurated March 29 by the American Legion. They are not necessarily tubing emergency jobs, such as construction work, clean-up work, etc., but they are being placed in positions similar to those they held before they went to war, according to the report.
