GRAIN ALCOHOL AND BAY RUM IN COP’S HOME That’s All Thief Cared for When He Visited House. A bottle of grain alcohol and a bottle of bay rum were stolen from, a policeman's home, hundreds cf dollars worth of Jewelry was reported stolen from Indianapolis homes, and numerous minor burglaries were committed last night. A thief entered the home of Patrolman William F. Schrieber, 3033 North Illinois Bireet and took a pint bottle of grain alcohol, valued at $2 and a quart of bay rum, valued at $5. A revolver worth $25 and a flashlight also were taken. Jewelry said to be worth $2,500 was stolen from the home of Philip Adler, 2735 North Meridian street. The robbery was discovered by a maid who came to the house. The loot Included a diamond bar pin set with four stones, a lady's gold watch, a pearl bar pin, a ring, a brooch and several smaller articles. Jewelry valued at SSS and clothing worth $35 was stolen from the home of Robert Merriwoather, 7SSVi Indiana avenue. A thief entered the rooming-house of C. J. Sommers, 1221 Park avenue, and took jewelry worth S7O belonging to Sommers and a handbag and clothing, valued at $‘J2, from A. E. Herlng, a roomer. Two thieves who operated by sitting near their victims and stealing their purse were reported to have robbed two women. Mrs. Jane M. Laurane, a guest at the Claypool Hotel, reported that she missed her purse when she went upstairs from the lobby where she had been sitting. She came to the desk clerk immediately after and reported her loss. Her purse was given her. It having been turned in by an unidentified man. It contained $74. Twenty dollars had been taken. Mrs. Lilly E. Pool, 4326 College avenue, reported to the police her bandbug containing SIOO in checks and $5 in cash was taken from her on a College avenue street car. Clothing valued at S4O was stolen from the home of Fred Power, 1106 East Ohio street. A revolver worth sl3 was taken by a thief, who entered the home of John E. Coles. SOO North Delaware street. Alvin Cummings, an employe of tha Xewette Brothers Garage, 532 East Washington street, told police two men broke a window in the garage while he was In the rear of the building. He said be yelled and the men fled in their automobile. Three automobiles were stolen. Rufus T. Mullis, 45 West Twenty-Seventh street, reported his seven-passenger car stolen from Delaware and Market streets. Raymond T. McCullough of Westport parked his car at Michigan and Delaware streets. When he looked for it later It had disappeared. Orville M. Robertson, 1150 Cruft 6treet, told the police his car was stolen from near the Lorraine Hotel.

WOMEN SEEK TO SUPPRESS ‘FATTY’ FILMS Take Firm Stand Against All Plays of Obese Comedian. STUDY NEEDS OF AGENCIES Community Chest Meeting Outlines Activities. A study of the financial need of forty social agencies supported by the Community Chest started today at a meei ing and luncheon. Chairmen of subcommittees were appointed to investigate special groups and make recommendations. E. A. Kahn of the budget committee and W. J. Mooney of the finance committee presided.
