BUTTER PRICES AFFECTS OLEO Government Collected $85,000 in License Fees in 1921. The amount of oleomargarine sold depends entirely on the price of butter, officials of the local Internal revenue office are inclined to telieve, after a study of the amount of money received by the Government from permits to **ll cleo. "Our oleomargarine permits make a perfect barometer of the but.er market, official said. “When butter Is cheap, feleo prints shrink rapidly, but when the "rice of butter starts upward immediately oleo applications Increase. Last year receipts from this source approximated $85,000. If present butter prices continue, receipts for 1022 probably will fall far below this figure.” There are two manufacturers, 172 wholesalers and about 7,000 retailers of the product in Indiana. Licenses cost from $0 to S6OO a year. Quotes Mayor on Clean-up Campaign In boosting the clean-up Campaign, the "silent orator” on the Merchants Heat A Light Company Building will tonight flash the following: "Say folks, let’s clean up the old own—get after your cellars and attics—rake off the back yard - I've got the city wagons out to haul the trash—let’s make Indianapolis safe —sane —sanitary.—Samuel Lewis Shank, mayor.” Find Strychnine in Girl’s Stomach ROCKFORD, 111., April H.—An- analysis of the contents of the stomach of Miss Grace M. IDAHO STORY RECORDED IN PLAIN TERMS (Continued From Page One.) sharp decline in the autumn of 1920 in all agricultural products, so that in 1921 virtually the .whole state went 1 broke together. Farmers, sheep raisers, cattle raisers, all went In the same boat. All through last year they were at their wits' end. In the calendar years 1920 and 1921 bank deposits In the State decreased $24,000,000 and bank loans decreased only about $1,500,000. That tells the story. The banks could noOsxtend further assistance to anybody. The whole condition was stagnant, depressed and frozen. Just now it Is beginning to improve. The cattle and sheep men got a matter cf a little more than $3,000,000 from the war finance corporation. This help, with the Increasing prices for beef and mutton, has enabled stock raisers to turn the corner. The farmers are still !n a bad plight, particularly those in the southeastern part of the State. A plan is under way, with every prospect of success, to .relieve their situation. It needs relief badly, from all accounts. DIFFICULT TO SFRVEY THE STATE. Idaho is so complete and so rigidly divided by mountain ranges, and so lucking in railroad communication from one pan. of -the State to another beciuse of this topographical condition, that It is very difficult to consider economically the State and its problems as a whole. All of this southern part of the State, about Botee, is tributary to Salt Lake City. 7 * e northern part if tributary to Spokiuie. Railroad communication is so limited tbft In a number of instances it is necessary in going from one part of the State to another, to leave Idaho and go Into an adjoining State and come back again. This condition of isolated sections makes for lack of leadership, lack of cooperation and lack of understanding in the State of the State’s problems and conditions as a whole. It makes a very special problem for persons outside, who want to come in and help. The main thing now is to find some way of financing the farmers so they can put in a crop and be carried along until they can market It. The State will come

It Is productive, and I now that it does not devote all of Its i energies to cattle and sheep, but has | diversified its products, it has measure- ' ably insured itself against again falling upon evil days, as it has recently encountered. SULPHUR IS BEST TO CLEAR UP UGLY BROKEN OUT SKIN Any breaking out or skin irritation on face, neck or body is overcome quickest by applying Mentho-Sulphur, says a noted skin specialist. Because of its germ destroying properties, nothing haß ever been found to take the place of this sulphur preparation that instantly brings ease from the itching, burning and irritation. Mentho-Sulphur heals eczema right up, leaving the skin clear and smooth. It seldom falls to relieve the torment or disfigurement. A little Jar of Mentho-Sul-phur may be obtalnsd at any drug store. It is used like cold cream. —Advertisement.
