‘ls It Proper for Girls to Ask Dates?’ WOOSTER, Ohio, April 14—An interesting debate at Wooster College is beI leg delayed because no one can bo found to take one side of the argument. The debate Is scheduled to be based on the subject “Is It Proper for Girls to Ask for Dates?’’ There are plenty of affirmative volunteers to handle that side of the new fad. But, when volunteers were called for to uphold the negative side of the question in public debate none responded. Meanwhile, despite the fact that not ' | all faculty members approve, the fad is 1 spreading rapidly. All except two girls | in one dormitory have asked for, and i have secured, dates with fellows at Kennarden.

BLACK-DRAUGHT OVER 30 YEARS “Saved Me Many a Sick Spell," Says Texas Farmer, Who Has Long Known Usefulness of Black-Draught. Naples, Texas.—“l have use,d Tfcedford's Black-Draught for years—l can safely say for more than 30 years," declares Mr. H. 11. Cromer, a substantial, well-known farmer, residing out on Route 3 from here. “I am 43 years old, and when a small boy I had indigestion and was puny and my folks gave me a liver regulator. Then Black-Draught was advertised and we heard of It. “I began to take Black-Draught, and have used it, when needed, ever since. I use Black Draught now in my home, and certainly recommend it for any liver trouble. "I have given it a thorough trial, and after thirty years can say BlackDraught is my stand-by. It has saved me many sick spells." Mr. Cromer writes that he is “never out of Black Draught,” and says several of his neighbors prefer it to any other liver medicine. “I always recommend Black-Draught to my friends," ho adds. This valuable, old, powdered liver medicine is prepared from medicinal roots and herbs, and has none of the bad effects so often observed from the use of calomel, or other powerful mineral drugs. 9 Brighten Homes EVERY young couple starting out in life has visions of joyful hours spent before the fireside with healthy, happy children; but, alas, how often young women who long for children are denied that happiness because of some functional derangement which may be corrected by proper treatment. Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Compound is just the medicine for these conditions, as the following letters show:

Chicago, 111.—" You surely gave women one good medicine when you put Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Compound on the market. After I had my baby I wa3 all run down and so nervous it kept me from gaining. My doctor did everything he could to build me up, then he ordered me to take Lydia E. I’inkham's Vegetable Compound with his medicine and I am now anew woman. I have had three children and they are all Lydia E. Pinkham babies. I have recommended your medicine to several friends and they speak highly of it. You are certainly doing good work in this world.”—Mrs. Adrith Tomsheck, 10357 Wabash Ave., Chicago, 111.

Many such letters prove the reliability of Lydia E. Pinkkam’s Compound E. PINKHAM MEDICINE CO. LYNN* MASS.

Any one man can be guaranteed to drink a gallon of beer at a sitting and arise perfectly sober. These protesters are members of the National Transport Workers' Federation. They number 250,000. In their ranks are comprised laborers, sailors and firemen, watermen and lightermen, stret car workers, gas workers, stevedores, carmen, ships'stewards, coal trimmers and stokehole workers. Their main grievance is that mild ale which in 1914 cost 4 cents per pint now costs 14 cents; bitter beer, which used to cost 6 cents per pint, now costs 20 cents. And they ask how a man can exist when the price of living has gone up to this extent. Hence they have instructed their secretary. Robert Williams, “to organize a
