the local Keith theatres, the week will be made memorable by the beginning of such activities. Constructive plans for philanthropy, business or patriotic service will be outlined by leaders in such activities, and local singers and instrumentalists will give Jubilee programs In the Keith theaters which now are at their disposal for such admirable uses, at no cost to them and with the complete cooperation of the Keith eiaffs. “Third of a * Century” anniversary week Is Intended to celebrate the public service record of Kalth vaudeville and Its community value, even more than Its achievements as an amusement business. President E. P. Albee of the Keith vaudeville circuit some years ago foresaw a widening field of unselfish utility for the theaters under his direction and, with the cooperation of Keith n anagers everywhere, began a systematic campaign to Induce musical, dancing and civic betterment organizations to make use of the Keith theaters free of charge and at hours not conflicting with the regular performances. “Third of a Century” week will be

made the occasion for voluntary local celebrations by many organizations which have sprung up and prospered largely through this generous encouragement from the Keith organization the executives of which regard this phase of the history of Keith vaudeville as the most important and the most enduring of all. In smaller Keith cities in which the public has not as yet taken advantage of the offer of free forenoon use of the Keith houses as rehearsal halls for choirs and orchestns, or as public forums sot the discussion of civic questions, “Third of a Century” anniversary week from April 24 to April 29, will be signalllzed by the formation of such local organizations and, wherever possible, the giving of concert* by the high order of “home talent" so plentiful In all American towns. They protest that business has been hurt by curbing gaiety.
